Anti-wrinkle treatments

Wrinkles are caused by repeated facial muscle contraction during expressions, and these lines become deeper and more prominent over time.  Botulinum toxin injected into these muscles causes them to relax, resulting in facial lines and wrinkles softening or disappearing (depending on their severity). 

Additionally, these injections can also be used to relax muscles and by the action of opposing muscles, create lifting effects.

Treatment duration varies due to variable factors, but typically a single treatment lasts 3-4 months.

Typical areas treated with anti-wrinkle injections: (see photos below)

Glabellar Area (Frown lines or "11's"); Forehead lines; "Crow's feet"; Brow lift (can lift the eyelids by lifting the end of the eyebrows); "Bunny lines" (lines a the sides of the upper nose when smiling); "Gummy smile" - when one sees the gums above the upper teeth when someone smiles; Pebbled (or cobblestone) chin; Smoker's or barcode lines - vertical lines above and below the lips from pursing; downturned corners of the mouth; Jawline slimming; treatment for bruxism (grinding or clenching of the teeth); treatment of platysmal bands which pull the face downward - releasing this downward pull can create a "lift" also known as the Nefertiti neck lift; axillary hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating of the armpits) - hands and feet can also be treated.
